MI Broth is recommended for the detection of Total Coliforms and Escherichia coli in water using membrane filtration technique
Formula:
Enzymatic Digest of Animal Tissue 5g
Yeast Extract 3g
Lactose 1g
Sodium Chloride 7.5g
Potassium Phosphate, Monobasic 1.0g
Potassium Phosphate, Dibasic 3.3g
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate 0.2g
Sodium Deoxycholate 0.1g
Indoxyl-Beta-d-Glucuronide Cyclohexyalmmonium Salt (IBDG) 0.32g
4-Methylumbelliferyl-Beta-d-Galactopyranoside (MUGal) 0.1g
Cefsulodin 0.005g
Final pH: 7.05 ± 0.2 at 25°C
